A straight draw in poker can be played in two different forms: open ended straight draw and inside straight draw. Open ended straight draw occurs when a player has four cards of the same suit and the straight can be completed from both the ends. People are most familiar with open ended straight.

Open-ended refers to a situation in poker where the player has four of five cards needed for a straight that can be completed at either end.
